During the government’s birth registration campaign earlier this week, the local government of Punjab revealed that Faisalabad has the highest birth rate, with 50,184 newborns registered in ten days.

According to the authorities, the actual number is around 25,000. Due to parents’ hasty registration efforts after learning about the campaign, the remaining 25,184 birth certificates were issued to children who were older than one year.

According to reports, some of the children who registered for the current campaign were as young as seven years old.

The campaign was started by the provincial government in order to make sure that all newborns were registered because this is crucial for establishing a child’s legal identity and for giving them access to services like healthcare and education.

According to reports, 262,000 newborns were registered over the course of the 10-day campaign, including 34,672 newborn boys and girls in the Lahore Division, 9,362 in Rawalpindi, 18,111 in Sargodha, 36,850 in DG Khan, 12,350 in Gujranwala, 21,301 in Sahiwal, 13,402 in Gujarat, 43,822 in Multan, 22905 in Bahawalpur, and 50,184 in Faisalabad.

In total, over the course of the 10-day campaign, 126,717 girls and 136,242 boys registered. This is a tremendous accomplishment in terms of ensuring that children are registered at birth.
