Mohammad Rizwan, the batsman, and wicketkeeper for Pakistan has been named as one of the finalists for the ICC T20I Player of the Year award. Along with the middle-order batsman from India, Suryakumar Yadav, the all-rounder from England, Sam Curran, and the explosive all-rounder from Zimbabwe, Sikandar Raza, Rizwan has been selected.

Rizwan excelled in T20 Internationals in 2022, finishing as the second-highest run-scorer in the game’s shortest format. In 25 innings during the year, Rizwan scored 996 runs, averaging 45.27 and striking out 122.96 percent of the time. He had a total of ten half-centuries and was also an excellent fielder. He struck out 12 batters, took nine catches, and had three stumpings.

Only Suryakumar Yadav, an Indian middle-order savior who was sensational with the bat in 2022, was able to surpass Rizwan’s total of 996 runs. In 31 T20I innings, Suryakumar secured 1,164 runs at an astounding strike rate of 187.43 and an average of 46.56. He also hit the most sixes in T20I cricket this year, with 68.

Sikandar Raza of Zimbabwe had an outstanding year with both the bat and the ball. As a result of his contributions, Zimbabwe was able to qualify for the T20 World Cup Super 12s, which helped him land contracts with the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and Indian Premier League (IPL). In 24 matches in 2022, Raza scored 735 runs and claimed 25 wickets.
