Saudi Arabia’s King Salman told Donald Trump that they expect to attain a fair and permanent solution to the issue of Palestine.

Reported by the news agency, King Salman stated that this solution is the basic purpose of the kingdom’s proposed Arab Peace Initiative in 2002.

There will be no normalization with Israel until there is a permanent solution to this issue regarding Palestine.

Both leaders had a telephonic discussion today over the matter, as last month based on US brokered accord, United Arab Emirates normalized ties with Israel. UAE was the third Muslim country to do this after Egypt and Jordan.

He said that he appreciated trump’s efforts to bring peace and harmony but it is only possible when there is a permanent solution to the captivity of Israel on Palestinian territory from 1967 middle east war.

According to the proposed peace initiative, Arab nations offered peaceful normalized ties with Israel in return of two demands from them

  • Statehood deal with Palestinians.
  • Israeli withdrawal from Palestinian territory.

US expects other Arab states to normalize ties as well with Israel but no state has done this so far except UAE.
