Uzbek foreign minister arrives in Pakistan on a two-day official visit

Bakhtiyor Saidov, the Uzbek foreign minister, landed in Pakistan on Wednesday on a two-day official visit.

The Uzbek foreign minister was welcomed warmly upon his arrival. Aizaz Khan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Director General (Central Asia and ECO), welcomed him.

During the visit, Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar will have in-depth discussions with Foreign Minister Saidov and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

According to the Foreign Office, a wide variety of bilateral matters of mutual importance will also be discussed, with an emphasis on commerce and connectivity.

“It is anticipated that the visit by the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan will give new life to the cordial relations between the two nations,” she continued.

It was previously reported that Mohammed Bin Salman Al Saud, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, will probably travel to Pakistan in May.

The Saudi Crown Prince is making his first trip to Pakistan in five years. He was in Pakistan for the final time in February 2019. A group led by the Saudi Crown Prince is scheduled to arrive in Pakistan.

The sources indicated that agreements to invest $5 billion are expected to be signed during the visit and that the crown prince’s visit dates are still being worked out.

During the five-week tour, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman will have their third face-to-face encounter.

Recently, a high-level trade team from Saudi Arabia led by Ibrahim al-Mubarak, the deputy minister for investments, travelled to Pakistan to look into potential business ventures and build trust with regional business owners.
