Pakistan Army Chief and the Iranian President hold strategic talks on border security and cooperation

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi met with Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, and topics of discussion included border security, issues of shared interest, and regional peace.

The main topics of discussion during the summit between the senior general and the visiting dignitary are border security, stability, and shared interests.


President Raisi and the COAS decided to work together to promote economic growth and stability in the area while also strengthening bilateral relations.

The Army Chief referred to the border between Pakistan and Iran as one of peace and friendship during the discussion, emphasising the necessity for increased collaboration along the border to stop terrorists from endangering the long-standing ties of brotherhood between Islamabad and Tehran.

The president of Iran also urged further collaboration between the armed forces of the two nations, expressing confidence in the establishment of peace and stability.

While on an official visit to a country in South Asia, Raisi met with high-ranking officials and made the decision to advance bilateral ties in a number of areas.
