Punjab facing smart lockdown again

Amidst the increasing sum of coronavirus cases all over Pakistan and Pakistan’s biggest province, a smart lockdown has been enforced in many cities of Punjab, counting 16 areas of Lahore, 17 in Gujarat, and four areas of Rawalpindi starting from today.

Based on the report revealed by the provincial government, all commercial centers in Punjab will be shut from Monday at 6 pm; however marketplaces will be shut on Saturday and Sunday.

Meanwhile, markets selling fruits, vegetables, milk, meat, and products of need as well as baker shops will continue to be opened till 7pm.

Furthermore, only one individual will be permitted to leave the home in situation of an emergency.

Moreover, half of staff attendance at private and government offices will be allowed.

All indoor marriage halls, tombs, cinemas, and public centers have been shut in the most vulnerable regions of Gujarat, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Multan, and Gujranwala.

The National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC) has shown apprehension regarding the increasing amount of cases and called on the provinces to firmly implement safety procedures in order to limit the virus spread.

In the interim, a smart lockdown in several cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is also being thought of whereas a continuity of ban on international travel from several states will be taken in consideration as a result of discussion with the appropriate authorities.
