According to the recent claims made by the Chinese academy of sciences the coronavirus has not basically originated from China but rather it has been originated from India in the summer of 2019. The virus traveled into human from animals by contaminated water being the main source.

They further stated that the virus then somehow found its way to Wuhan from India. From India, it came to Wuhan unnoticed. The team has presented their argument in the paper with the use of phylogenetic analysis to trace back the origin of the particular virus.

Based on the method of research used by the scientists, the possibility of the virus originating from Wuhan. This research has further given out names of eight other country names from which the virus could have originated from including:

  • Bangladesh
  • USA
  • India
  • Czech Republic
  • Serbia
  • Greece
  • Australia
  • Italy
  • Russia

The research also stated that being neighbors, India and Bangladesh had reported samples with rather low mutations, there is a possibility that first mutation had occurred there.

They claimed: “The water shortage made wild animals such as monkeys engage in the deadly fight over water among each other and would have surely increased the chance of human-wild animal interactions. We speculated that the [animal to human] transmission of SARS-CoV-2 might be associated with this unusual heat wave.
