Based on the findings of a recent report,92% of the individuals infected by coronavirus in a critical condition got out that life-threatening situation due to the plasma therapy the received. In critical conditions, when provided with plasma therapy, major number of patients was prevented from shifting to ventilator.
Other than critical condition patients, moderate ones were also provided with plasma therapy. In this case mostly patients recovered from the disease.
It was also observed that the recovery time depended on the extent of disease i.e. people would recover more quickly when provided with this therapy 4-5 days after being tested positive than those who were given 7-8 days after confirmation.
The report with results have been submitted to Drug regulatory authority of Pakistan (DRAP) to be published soon as plasma therapy is being considered an effective way of treating the Novel coronavirus.
