Caretakers Increase Price of Petrol Once Again

For the third time in less than a month, the caretaker federal government has raised gas prices.

The Finance Division has announced that the price of fuel has increased to Rs. 279.75 a liter, an increase of Rs. 4.13. High-speed diesel, however, continues to be priced at Rs. 287.33 a liter. The revised cost will take effect on March 1.

The government raised the price of petrol by Rs. 2.71 per liter and the price of high-speed diesel by Rs. 8.37 per liter during the most recent weekly review of petroleum pricing on February 15.

The government increased the price of petrol by Rs. 13.55 per liter and the price of high-speed diesel by Rs. 2.75 per liter on January 31, which preceded the rise on February 15.
