Agha Kaleem, a boxer from Pakistan, won the Light Fly Weight division at the World Muaythai Boxing Championship in Bangkok, Thailand, on Monday.

The 23-year-old boxer from Karachi was a competitor in the 51-kilogram Senior Amateur division. On Friday, he declared that his involvement represented Palestine as well as Pakistan.

The International Federation of Muaythai Associations hosts the World Muaythai Championships, an annual Thai boxing championship in the sport of muaythai. It is the highest level of Muaythai competition in the world outside of the World Games.

Agha Kaleem revealed that competitors from more than 40 nations competed in this year’s tournament. “He was a very tough player, and I competed against the three-time World and two-time Asian Champion from Kazakhstan,” he remarked. In my weight group, there was one additional competitor from India. However, he chose not to fight. Thus, I advanced straight to the final and prevailed in a close battle.

Kaleem claimed in a social media post that he was representing both Palestine and Pakistan before the competition began. In the post’s accompanying video, he was seen waving both nations’ flags at the tournament’s opening ceremony.
