On Monday, Sheikh Jaffer Mandokhail, the head of the PML-N, was sworn in as the 24th governor of Balochistan.

Mandokhail was sworn in during a ceremony at the Governor’s House by Chief Justice Hashim Kakar of the Balochistan High Court

Participants in the event included members of the provincial assembly as well as Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bhugti and his cabinet.

In the provincial governments, Sheikh Jaffer Mandokhail occupied a number of important roles, including Minister of Finance, Minister of Planning and Development, Minister of Education, and Minister of Revenue.

President Asif Ali Zardari gave his nod over the weekend to run for the much-sought-after post of governor of the nation’s sparsely populated area.

BNP-M head Malik Abdul Wali Kakar took the oath of office in mid-2022, and Mandokhail replaced him.
