Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz announces distribution of 50,000 solar systems

The “Chief Minister Roshan Gharana” initiative was launched by Maryam Nawaz, the Chief Minister of Punjab, with the goal of distributing 50,000 solar systems around the region. 

She advocated employing the newest solar technology and emphasized the urgent need to start building one-kilowatt solar systems during a conference regarding solar household options.

The first phase of the program, which has a budget of Rs 12.6 billion, would supply solar systems to 50,000 randomly selected customers who use up to 100 units of power each month. Modern solar panels, inverters, batteries, and other requirements will be part of these systems. 

A number of officials attended the meeting, including the chief secretary, chairman of planning and development, former senator Pervaiz Rashid, MPA Sania Ashiq, chief executive officer of Punjab Power Development Company (PPDCL), managing director of Punjab Power Development Board (PPDB), and secretaries of energy and finance.

In her first address as the chief minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz outlined her goals for the next five years, emphasizing the development of employment possibilities, advancements in education, and the improvement of healthcare facilities.
