The request was made during a meeting between Sharif and Nassar Abdulrahman Jasser Almutairi, the ambassador of Kuwait to Pakistan. In the course of the discussion, Sharif talked about bilateral relations and urged both parties to work together to guarantee prompt implementation of the seven accords that the two nations inked last year.

Sharif emphasized during the meeting the agreements on cooperation in a number of sectors, including water supply, technology, agriculture, hydropower, mining and minerals, and mangrove rehabilitation, according to a statement released by the PM Office. He said that an effective method for luring international investment to Pakistan was offered by the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC).

Sharif praised the Kuwaiti leadership, particularly the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, for the kind words on his re-election as Pakistan’s prime minister, highlighting the country’s long-standing and close relations with Kuwait.

With an emphasis on commerce and investment, he conveyed his intention to collaborate closely with them to enhance the two countries’ relationship and invited the Amir of Kuwait to visit Pakistan as soon as it would be convenient for him.

The envoy expressed gratitude to Pakistan for helping Kuwait through trying times. During the 1990–91 conflict, he expressed gratitude to former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for his vocal public support of Kuwait’s independence and sovereignty. Additionally, he conveyed his appreciation for Pakistan’s assistance to Kuwait throughout the COVID-19 outbreak. He restated Kuwait’s resolute intention to forge deeper relations with Pakistan.

Sharif valued the Kuwaiti envoy’s assistance in promoting closer relations between the two nations.
