National Aviation Policy 2023 Receives Approval From Federal Cabinet

In response to a request from the Ministry of Aviation, the Federal Cabinet approved the National Aviation Policy 2023 on Wednesday during its final meeting.

Outgoing Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif presided over the meeting and received a detailed report from the Secretary Cabinet covering the period from April 20 to August 8, 2023.

The cabinet gave its approval to the auction of all expensive gifts that the prime minister’s office had received over the previous 15 months, as directed by the chair.

The National Tariff Commission’s nomination of technical and non-technical members was approved by the cabinet at the Ministry of Commerce’s recommendation. The cabinet members also finalised and approved appointments for a number of other state institutions.

The Special Investment Facility Secretariat, which will have Jameel Ahmed Qureshi as its secretary and chief accounting officer, has received approval from the federal cabinet.

The cabinet approved modifications to the solar policy on the recommendation of the Power Division. After these changes are put into place, the government will be able to solarize its buildings and meet its 10,000 MW solarization goal.

The agenda items from the meetings held on July 26, August 7, and August 8, 2023, that the Economic Coordination Committee approved, were also adopted by the federal cabinet.

All of the decisions given by the Cabinet Committee on Inter-Governmental Commercial Transactions in the past week and those made at the Cabinet Committee on Privatisation meeting on August 7, 2023, were also approved by the federal cabinet.
