NADRA to Issue Free CNICs for Flood Victims

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has made plans to provide free CNICs to those in impacted regions as a way to aid people who have been harmed by the catastrophic flooding.

The United Nations Development Program has joined forces with this initiative to launch it (UNDP).

The NADRA Chairman claims that this venture will benefit women, people with disabilities, and people from low socioeconomic status living in nine districts throughout Sindh and Balochistan.

The main aim behind giving free CNICs is to empower flood-affected individuals in different areas.

The NADRA and UNDP’s action is a critical first step in helping those impacted by the floods. The lives of those living in flood-affected areas will undoubtedly be greatly impacted by this project by allowing them to obtain CNICs.

The NADRA offices that were destroyed by this year’s monsoon-induced record-breaking floods were reopened in December 2022. According to the chairman of NADRA, 58 offices in Sindh were destroyed. They reopened in record time after undergoing renovations.

He went on to say that floods posed a number of issues for NADRA, including the destruction of its employees’ homes. 1,000 employees have received compensation from NADRA, including an increase in their monthly wages.
