Micro-smart lockdown imposed in Karachi’s Manghopir

Two areas in Karachi’s sub division Manghopir have been subjected to a mini smart lockdown by the Sindh government as number of cases has been going up.

An official statement has been issued by the deputy commissioner Karachi that read: “The Assistant Commissioner Manghopir is further directed to make implementation plan and enforce the above order in letter and spirit and penalize the violators of SOPs guidelines under the directives of Home Department’s order,” 

The lockdown has been imposed for two week i.e. starting from 1st October and lasting till 15th October.

There are several SOPs that are to be followed during this mini lockdown:

  • Wearing a mask while entering/existing area is necessary
  • Public movement within the area would be restricted
  • Only the essential places like grocery store or pharmacies will be allowed to remain open during specific timings that are issued.
  •  No business activity can be carried out during lockdown
  • Only one member per family will be allowed to go out to by necessities such as food by showing CNIC to the authorities
  • Ban on public gatherings and pillion riding
