Dubai to Introduce Free Careem Bike Rides for All

Careem and Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) have partnered to provide free bicycle rides throughout the city. In order to promote healthier lifestyle choices and the adoption of flexible transport for recreation and exercise, this initiative was launched in conjunction with World Environment Day on June 5.

In accordance with the government’s instructions, RTA and Careem have created a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) to make Dubai a bicycle-friendly city.

Customers using the Careem app would be able to enjoy free bicycle rides starting on Saturday, June 10. Trips shouldn’t last longer than 45 minutes, but within this time frame, unlimited rides are permitted.

Customers can select the “One Day” pass and put in the code “FREE” on the app for unlimited access to the bikes for the entire day. Although their card information will need to be entered, there won’t be any fees applied.

The 186 stations that offer Careem Bikes have been crucial in lowering Dubai’s carbon emissions. They have successfully reduced more than 2.5 tonnes of CO2 since their debut in February 2020. This is comparable to the annual emissions from 713 cars.

Additionally, Careem Bike provides businesses with a green way to reduce their carbon footprint by allowing customers or employees to subscribe in bulk.
