During the last World Cup, former captain Virat Kohli was the top run scorer. However, he will not be playing in India’s white-ball matches in South Africa.

India will play a complete series in South Africa, encompassing all three forms, starting on December 10 in Durban with a Twenty20 international match.
The Indian Express claims that Kohli informed the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) of his decision. There will be two Test matches, three ODIs, three T20Is, and three ODIs throughout the tour. Kohli is anticipated to play in the Test matches.

Boxing Day marks the start of the first Test at Centurion, and the second Test is played in Cape Town.

Ajit Agarkar, a former all-rounder for India, is leading the national selection committee, which will soon reveal the Indian team in all forms.

With his remarkable World Cup performance, Kohli scored 765 runs in 11 innings, secured three hundred, and won the coveted Player of the Tournament award.

In addition, Virat Kohli became the first player to reach 50 centuries and surpassed Sachin Tendulkar’s record for most ODI hundreds.

Kohli has notified the BCCI and the selectors of his decision to take a break from white-ball cricket and will thereafter confirm his comeback.

He has now informed the BCCI that he will be available for the two Test matches in South Africa, an insider told the magazine.

After an intense cricket season that saw him play nonstop for many months, Virat Kohli is now on holiday in London. His last rest came for the first two ODIs against Australia at home in September, right before the World Cup.
