During a Sunday chat, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif spoke with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and reiterated their shared commitment to advancing the bilateral relationship between Islamabad and Riyadh.

During his three-day visit to the Kingdom, PM Sharif did Umrah. At the Iftar meal given by MBS at Al-Safa Palace in Mecca, he met Saudi leaders along with a team that included Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.

In a statement, the Saudi Press Agency stated: “Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman hosts an Iftar at Al-Safa Palace in Makkah, attended by the Prime Minister of Pakistan and the Crown Prince of Bahrain, where they all broke their fast together.”.

The Saudi Crown Prince extended a cordial welcome to the premier and his party. They covered a wide range of subjects during their meeting, such as trade and investment issues, common interests, and bilateral ties.

The federal cabinet members and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz were among the guests at the Iftar that the Crown Prince also specially invited.

To fortify relations and complete development projects, including possible Saudi investment in the Reko Diq project, the prime minister of Pakistan and other high-ranking officials travelled to the Kingdom.

The fact that Sharif is visiting highlights the strong religious and cultural links that exist between Islamic countries, and both sides are dedicated to improving trade and investment connections.
