The ninth game of the Pakistan Super League will take place on Thursday at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore between Quetta Gladiators and Islamabad United.

Quetta, under the leadership of Rossow, has won both of its opening two PSL9 games.

In the first match, the Purple Force outscored Babar Azam’s Zalmi by 190 runs while scoring 206 runs and defending it with ease. In the history of the premier cricket league, the Gladiators also secured a historic victory over the scorching Lahore Qalandars, their first-ever triumph over an Afridi-led team.

The team’s big hitters, Jason Roy and Saud Shakeel, continue to lead the batting division, while newcomers Khawaja Nafay, Mohammed Amir, Akeal Hossein, Waseem Jr., and Mohammad Hasnain all showed their best.

Of the two matches played thus far, Islamabad United won the first one but lost the second. They defeated the Qalandars, the reigning champions, first, but they were unlucky against the Multan Sultans.

In contrast, United showed resilience in their second match, chasing a goal of 145 runs on the second-to-last ball.

United hopes to mount a formidable comeback against the Quetta Gladiators in their third encounter.

Gaddafi Stadium’s pitch continues to benefit hitters, especially power hitters who can easily rack up high totals while bowlers struggle.
