Peshawar Zalmi’s skipper isolated for breaching covid-19 SOP’s

Peshawar Zalmi captain has been has been taken out of the list of playing players on their first Pakistan Super League (PSL) game against Lahore Qalandars as he and Head Coach Darren Sammy were quarantined after they broke coronavirus basic SOPs which were supposed to be fllowed by all players and came across a person outside bio-secure bubble, sources stated on Saturday.

Based on the news from sources, Wahab Riaz and head coach Darren Sammy had “mistakenly” came in contact with Peshawar Zalmi owner Javed Afridi during a training session on Friday late afternoon.

According to siurces: “It may be an honest mistake and possibility the player and coach didn’t know that he was not part of the bubble,”

The source furthere added that Peshawar Zalmi will make the announcement regarding a stand-in captain for Sundays’ match with Shoaib Malik and Kamran Akmal are possible contenders for the role to hold up captain’s title.

“The PCB is disappointed that two members of one of the sides showed carelessness and violated the bio-secure bubble protocols by coming into a contact with a person who was not part of the bubble,” the PCB had stated
