Pakistan was placed 108th out of 143 nations in the World Happiness Report by the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network. The report took into account factors including health, life expectancy, freedom, and corruption.

Even though Pakistan’s rating dropped from 103 in 2023 to 108 in 2024, it was still higher than Bangladesh, India, and Sri Lanka, its regional competitors.

Afghanistan scored the least happy, with Finland, Denmark, Iceland, and Sweden securing the top four spots, accordingly. Germany and the United States, on the other hand, dropped out of the top 20, coming in at 23 and 24, respectively.

The paper emphasizes how anxiety and despair have been brought on by the COVID-19 epidemic, which has impacted people’s wellbeing globally.
