Pakistan draw first blood against Bangladesh after Hasan Ali five-for

Pakistan defeated the visiting team, Bangladesh by 37 runs in the opening match of the T20I series at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Wednesday.

Chasing a target of 202 runs, the entire Bangladesh team was dismissed for 164 in the final over. Captain Litton Das top-scored with 48, followed by Jaker Ali with 36, Tanzid Hasan with 31, and Towhid Hridoy who contributed 17 runs. No other batter managed to reach double figures.

For Pakistan, Hasan Ali took a five-wicket haul, while Shadab Khan claimed two wickets. Faheem Ashraf, Khushdil Shah and Salman Agha took one wicket each.

Earlier, in the match held at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first, scoring 201 runs for the loss of seven wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Captain Salman Agha was the standout performer, scoring 56 runs off 34 balls.

Hasan Nawaz played an aggressive knock, scoring 44 off 22 deliveries with four sixes and two fours. Shadab Khan made 48, Mohammad Haris added 31, while Khushdil Shah contributed 5 runs.

Fakhar Zaman and Saim Ayub were dismissed without showing resistance with the bat, whereas Faheem Ashraf remained not out on 11 and Hasan Ali was unbeaten on 1.

For Bangladesh, Shariful Islam took two wickets, while Mehidy Hasan, Hasan Mahmud, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Rishad Hossain and Shamim Hossain each picked up one wicket.
