As the haze continues to cover Punjab, the Lahore High Court (LHC) has ordered that all educational institutions, including universities and schools, close on Saturdays.

The order was given at a court hearing over the province’s oppressive levels of pollution. The LHC’s Justice Shahid Kareem observed that Punjab’s fog was no longer confined to Lahore alone.

Every public and commercial organisation is required to implement a work-from-home policy twice a week.

Justice Karim said, “On Saturday, there should be a complete shutdown of schools and colleges.”

The court hearing was postponed until November 17. It is important to highlight that Punjab’s air quality hasn’t really improved despite the recent rain.
