Huawei will produce cameras for its devices as well.

Huawei resumed manufacturing 5G-capable HiSilicon Kirin chipsets for smartphones with the release of the Mate 60 series, in defiance of the US prohibition. It seems that the business is currently thinking of designing the camera internally in place of another component.

Huawei has been using Sony sensors in its phone cameras for a long time. These sensors have an unusual architecture that uses two yellow sub-pixels rather than two green ones.

However, information from the source Fixed Focus Digital indicates that Huawei and Sony have not extended their deal, and Huawei is no longer carrying any Sony sensors.

This fuels the rumours that Huawei-designed sensors will be included in the next Huawei P70 series. After its cooperation with Leica ended, the business had to replace another component of its camera system, which is why Huawei introduced the XMAGE platform with a bespoke NPU.

Additionally, there are rumours that Huawei is working hard on creating a unique optical fingerprint reader for the P70 series. Although the corporation has not yet released any formal statements, it is assumed that these internal developments will be a major feature of their presentation, which is scheduled for early 2019.

Huawei has been forced, against its desire, to develop its own substitutes for parts that it had previously imported, and it appears that the P70 series will push these own designs to unprecedented levels.

The Huawei P70 series has no set debut date as of yet; however, there have been reports that an announcement would take place in the first quarter of 2024. This implies that by the end of 2023, there will probably be additional leaks, and finally, in 2024, there will be a teaser campaign.
