The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced that the finals of the World Test Championship (WTC) in 2027, 2029 and 2031 will take place in England, under the auspices of the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).

This decision, taken during the ICC Annual Meeting, came in recognition of the ECB’s successful hosting of the WTC finals in 2021, 2023 and the upcoming 2025 edition.

In other developments, the ICC, in collaboration with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), ECB and Cricket Australia (CA), is preparing a special support programme for displaced Afghan women cricketers.

The initiative, overseen by ICC Deputy Chair Imran Khawaja, seeks to provide access to high-performance pathways, domestic competitions and international tournaments, including the 2025 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup and the 2026 Women’s T20 World Cup.

The ICC has also instructed USA Cricket to conduct transparent and fair elections within three months, in order to address governance issues. The Board emphasised its authority to take further action if necessary.

Additionally, East Timor and the Zambia Cricket Union have been granted associate membership of the ICC, raising the organisation’s total membership to 110.
