Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a $350 million loan for Pakistan aimed at improving women’s access to finance.
According to ADB, the funds will be utilized to support women’s financial inclusion and economic empowerment under the second phase of the “Women Inclusive Finance Sector Development Program.”
The financial package includes a $300 million policy-based loan and an additional $50 million in financial assistance to further support the initiative.
ADB stated that the loan will be used to promote women’s participation in entrepreneurial activities across Pakistan. The program also aims to improve women’s access to credit facilities and financial guarantees.
The project is part of ADB’s broader efforts to support inclusive and sustainable economic growth in Pakistan by focusing on gender equality in the financial sector.
